This Site & It's Purpose

This site is the first of many, dedicated to providing information, resources and (most importantly) ACTIVE ideas on how to put that information to USE.  The thing I find about most information sites is that there's too much.  Too much to read, to learn, to keep in mind and put into action.  So, this site is redundant for a reason.  The eBook "Lose The Diet!  Lose The Fat!" is also redundant for a reason.  The core of what we need to know to make serious changes is very simple.  I want to repeat it from as many points of view as possible until the core ideas really sink in and compel you to take ACTION in your life and create what you want: with your body, your mind, your relationships, your life as a whole.

This site is the beginning.

My Story

Short Version (Not so short)

Seven years ago (June 2008) I quit drinking (alcohol) and quit dieting.  After trying diet plan after diet plan  (some that said no carbs or sugar and others that gave values to pieces of food) I realized that I was simply going around and around.  I stopped dieting to evaluate exactly what it was that led me to quit on every single "diet" I had ever tried.  What I discovered was that I started every diet thinking it would take no time at all to get to that body I thought I could have.  It was that mindset exactly that killed my chances of succeeding.  I was never the type to consider liposuction, pills or tricky diet aides that claimed to do what just didn't seem natural to me.  Deep down I'd known all along that the best and most permanent way to slim down would be the hard way.  Well, I was wrong about that too!

I didn't want it to be "hard" to lose all my extra fat, after all, that's what ticked me off about all the diets I'd tried.  They all made you obsess and think all day long about what to eat, when to eat it, how to eat it, why you're eating-BLAH!  I was just done with that.  So, I took the essence from many of those plans but left out the complicated, dieting-is-your -part-time-job aspect and boom, I was losing fat, feeling great about it and wanting to lose more.  All I did was to slowly, one notch at a time, trim back on the
amount of sugar-filled food and drinks I was consuming; then, I did the same with my normal meals.

After the first three weeks just trimming back on the sugar food/drink I already felt more energy, confidence and faith in myself to go the distance.  I wasn't losing the weight as FAST as I would have liked to, but it was coming off at a steady pace and that was good enough for me.  THEN, I started (after about a month) really trimming back on the amount of food I consumed at each meal and my fat loss hit
warp speed.  I naturally began to just say NO to snacks (and if I just had to eat something, it was a carrot or an apple or the like with lots of water to "trick" myself into feeling full).  It was EASY.  It was SIMPLE (just trim back on amounts) and it was WORKING big time.

A year and a half later, I'd lost the 85 lbs. I'd set out to lose and began my next phase, toning and creating the body I wanted, but wasn't sure I could have.  Now I know, you can have anything you desire to have and are willing to commit to (no matter what it takes or how long).  I started just doing push ups and ab crunches and now my at-home workout only involves two dumbbells, the floor and lots of energy.  Now I have the best physique I've ever had and I'm 38!  It only took me about a year to achieve that body with two to three workouts a week that didn't take me long at all and I could do it while I worked on other things.  That eBook is forthcoming and you can pre-order a copy at a HUGE discount with your copy of the steeply discounted "Lose The Diet!  Lose The Fat!".

And YES, I am trying to sell you my eBook right now.  Absolutely.  If I don't, it's wasted information.  So buy it now, put it to work immediately and ALWAYS be brutally honest with me about how our company can improve our service, information and relationship with you.

Long Version (Pretty Darn Long)

Eight years ago I was still drinking (alcohol) and eating way too much food.  My oldest daughter was almost two years old and I was struggling at my job at the time.  My confidence was at an all time low and so was my self-image.  I was the heaviest I'd ever been up to that point, 238 lbs. as you can see in the only pictures I was able to find from that time.  After beginning a meditation program, I quit drinking, on my own, and began to cut back on the amount of food I ate.  The main "switch" that flipped within was that I was finally ready to make serious changes and decided to do so.  Decision is the single most important key to losing unwanted fat.  In the past, I would begin the "latest diet fad" knowing that I wouldn't be able to sustain it.  I would lose a few pounds here and some inches there, but before long I was eating myself right back to where I started.  And each time I failed myself, I lost more confidence in my ability to let the fat go for good.  It's a depressing cycle to trap yourself in and like any addictive behavior, eating more than your body can handle will hurt you physically, emotionally and mentally.

Since I had tried the "high-protein" diet and the "no carb" diets and the "cut out all your sugar" diets I had quite a base of experience and knowledge to draw on when I decided I would just lose the fat the way that best suited me.  I didn't cut anything out completely.  I took little steps.  And each step I took was a one, two or three week commitment for me.  I made these commitments to myself and followed through by setting a goal I knew I could reach.  I set easy goals at first, but that's what worked for me at the time.  I didn't really know what I was doing, but I did know that trying to do it all at once never worked before.  I began to resent and reject all the new diets that seemed to be coming out of the woodwork claiming you had to count all these points, think all day long about the value of each piece of food you were wanting to eat or completely cut things out!  I really got frustrated and vowed that I would lose weight without all those "diets" and reach my ideal weight by developing my own plan.  I did just that.  Yes, it took me a long time, just under two years by the time I'd reached 152 lbs. (too thin--I looked like a stick man).

As I began to drop the fat in the first few months I had moments where I'd look back and see that the main thing that stopped with all other diets was that I accepted the claims that I could drop fat QUICKLY.  I'm well aware that in todays pace of living, most will not like hearing that to reach their Ideal Weight, their true body shape, it will take a LOT of patience and endurance.  There is no way you can lose a lot of fat quickly without going right back to the beginning.  Once I got my head around that, it was as if a HUGE burden had been lifted and suddenly I was getting loads of pleasure by saying no to a certain amount of food every time I sat down to eat.  My confidence was building, I could see the fat disappearing week after week and the momentum carried me all the way through.

And here's the best part.  I never, ever stopped eating the things I like to eat: burgers, pizza, pasta, fruits and veggies, juice, ice cream, everything.  I did not completely cut out any one thing.  The one thing I learned was that it was important to highly restrict myself regarding "desserts" or anything that resembled the amount of processed sugar that was in a "dessert", which included soda, too much juice, smoothies even.  Most smoothies are LOADED with sugar and it ain't all fresh fruit sugar.  Still, I enjoyed a smoothie a couple times a week and that was my entire lunch; no pretzel, no cookie, no anything else, just he smoothie.  In fact, lots of times I would much down a Cliff bar for lunch and drink a liter of water to fill my stomach up.

What I knew to be true, was that I couldn't continue to take in as much food as I used to eat and lose the fat, period.  There was no way that would happen.  So, my family and I would sit down for dinner at my parents once in a while during my "NO DIET weight loss" time and believe me the food looked and smelled magnificent (my Mom's a stellar cook!).  But I would only take about a third of what I had been eating for years.  I would take my time eating it, enjoying every little bite and by the time I ate my little plate of food and drank a few glasses of water with it, I was full enough.

Two years later I had lost all the fat that I'd carried around for years.  Sure, I had thinner times, but never was I so close to my Ideal Weight as I was at the end of my own No Diet Weight Loss plan.

But what gave me the most pleasure was watching that fat come off from the simplest and easiest "diet" I'd ever embarked on.  Basically, cut back on everything, but keep eating it.  Just slim back on how much you eat, not what you eat.  This worked like magic and I NEVER had to sit around before I ate something with a food calculator trying to figure out how much was too much and blah blah blah.  I had HAD IT with all the thinking about my diet.  I already had a job, I didn't need to have a diet that felt like a second job.

That's what this site is all about.  Giving you honest, real information about what has worked and what hasn't.  We are in charge of how we put any diet information to use, no one else.

Snap to eight years later and my body, my mind and my emotions are in the best place they've ever been, ideal.  I lost most of the weight six years ago and since then I have worked out with dumbells, doing push ups and sit ups (ab exercises) and have now achieved the best body I've ever had at 38 years old.  "Lose The Diet!  Lose The Fat!" and this accompanying site are the first of many.  The next book I will release will be the follow up to weight loss.  Once you've lost the fat you want to lose (and even while you're losing it) you can begin simple and easy exercises--at your own pace--that will boost the fat loss and slowly begin to shape your body over time.  Right, another "not fast" health book.

When it comes to fitness I feel the same as I do about Diets.  The reason people with the potential to look their best give up on exercise is the same reason they (we/I) give up on dieting:  we are told we can do it quickly and we convince ourselves it's true.  Fitness and achieving a "nice body" is not at all quick or fast.  Like everything in nature, it takes time to grow.

This site is not typical.  The headings aren't typical, the buttons aren't typical and even my sales pitches to "buy my eBook" are not that typical.  Well, okay, my sales pitches are pretty typical--and YES!--I am trying to sell you information that will help you.  Absolutely.  And I've priced it so that it competes with the cost of two latte's or two and half tanks of gas.  There's noo reason not to get it.

The third phase of sites and eBooks will focus on sobriety.  I approached sobriety the same way I did food and fitness, on my own terms.  I have never relapsed and never will.  There will be a separate site dedicated to people who want to develop their own plan for becoming and staying sober.  That site (and eBook sales) will be a non-profit and in keeping with the promise of this site (and all sales) 20% of Gross Revenue will be gifted to programs that house, feed and clothe people in America first and then elsewhere.  The rest of the money will go to further develop and support those who wish to become and stay sober in the way that best supports their success.

Our promise to you is that any time you buy anything from us, you will know everything UP FRONT.  You will not be tricked or duped into paying for anything you didn't want to pay for right up front.  I'm taking example from all the websites I've "joined" that send emails so packed with information I just delete them.  The ONLY emails you will get from us will be simple, to the point and only if you've requested it (like the eCoaching).  We will never share, transfer, sell your information or otherwise jeopardize your faith in our company because you have entrusted us with that information ONLY to buy the eBook or obtain eCoaching, nothing else.  Overall, our goal is that your web experience here is unlike any you've had with other sites that sell a product or information.  If you're not happy about something, please let us know immediately so we can fix it and make reparations.

Thank you for your time, your trust and your business.
